Nate Beason has suddenly scheduled a Town Hall according to a press release that I did not receive. I wonder why?
Nate Beason, Nevada County Supervisor for District 1, will hold a town hall meeting on Wednesday, November 2, at 6:30 pm at Nevada County Consolidated Fire District Station No. 84, at 10135 Coyote St., Nevada City.
Why the sudden interest in holding Town Hall meetings? Rumor is that Nate just learned that he will be challenged by a serious conservative in the up coming primary. Stay Tuned for the details.
Update(01-21-11, 09:50) Susan McGuire is going to run for Nate Beason’s seat. More details in a post when she releases her Press Release. Stay tuned.

Oh my… how many town halls did former Supervisor Jihn Spencer hold?… that would be zero.
That would be JOHN Spencer vs. JIHN Spencer.
Steve: Relevance?
I guess that question could go to Nate Beason too?
Who is the “serious conservative” challenging Supervisor Beason?
Supervisor Nate Beason has held a number of town hall meetings in his district over the years. Terry Lamphier has done so too too since beating former Supervisor John Spencer in the last election.
On the other hand John Spencer held no town hall meetings in his district and Spencer was in office for a number of years.
So Barry you ask what’s the “Relevance”? Did you read Russ’s post?
Russ says… “Why the sudden interest in holding Town Hall meetings?”.
News flash, it’s not “sudden” as Supervisor Beason has held town hall meetings a number of times.
Yuo see Barry, it was Russ that raised the issue, not me. I only provided some basic facts on the issue raised by Russ.
Why the personal attacks on John Spencer? Do you consider personal attacks on John relevant to Nate’s townhall? You need to get a hold of your anger…it can cause high-blood pressure.
No sale Barry. Read my posts above. I only provided the facts. On the other hand Russ’s post takes a snide shot or two at Supervisor Beason.
So Barry, please post what in my posts above under this topic where you think I made a personal attack on former Supervisor John Spencer.
Readers here need only to read any of your posts above. The analysis by Russ is dead on, Nate has lost the necessary community support from most political spectrums for an unprecedented third run for Supervisor. As you well know and will likely point out, third runs in Nevada County for supervisor are inherently difficult.
As we sit here and knowing who supported Nate in 2004, Nate is scrambling to gather support that is simply not there.
So who is this conservative messiah who will come forth to lead the 1st District out of the wilderness? I await the answer with baited breath.
Barry, you failed to list what part of my above posts were a personal attack on former Supervisor John Spencer as you claim. Try again as you made this claim.
All I posted was the fact that Spencer never held a town hall meeting in all the years he was an elected Supervisor.
Try again Barry as it was you that made this claim against me.
You post in a snide smart-ass way SteveE. We all can read. You have a personal problem with JohnS because you were probably politically spanked when you served with his wife on the council. Fess up, you know it is true. Revenge words spew from you whenever you have a chance.
No sale Todd. I ask you the same that I asked of Barry.
What part of my above posts are a personal attack on John Spencer? Be specific, repost what part of my comments above are a personal attack on Jihn Spencer.
Russ… you are taking Supervisor Beason to task about his town hall meeting. So how do you feel about Supervisors that hold elected office and don’t hold town hall meetings with those in their district that they represent?
Prolly doesn’t really give a crap and still thinks there a waste of time
