This says more to the economy that Obama inherited and the complete obstruction of any kind of policies that would help America get back on track. The big two have completely failed the American people. Republicans jack up the national debt and the Democrats increase the military interventions/ occupations in direct contradiction of why they were put into office.

  2. Russ says:

OK, for the sake of argument, lets admit that Bush and the Democratic Congress the last two years of his presidency created the problem. Obama said he could fix it, and it is getting worse. Why? Everything he has tried resulted in failure. What we are seeing is a lack of leadership, you cannot attack business and then expect them to create jobs.

  3. Barry Pruett says:

That about sums it all up.

  4. Ben Emery says:

Business doesn’t create jobs and never has, demand creates jobs. Nobody hires people if they do not foresee or have a demand for whatever product or service they are selling. The average American has seen their income decrease over the last decade and remain stagnant over the last 30 years. That lack of purchasing power was replaced by public and private debt. There is no more debt to be had and the economy has plummeted due to our Free Trade and Supply Side(a.k.a. tax breaks and deregulation doesn’t work) policies. It enriches a small few and leaves the rest out in the cold.

I agree with you on Obama is not willing to stand up strong and push what is necessary to reverse this downward spiral. It is probably much different than what you might advocate for but at least he would make a move in one direction or another instead of the half measure bs that has little chance at working.

  5. Greg Goodknight says:

Ben seems blind to the correlaton between the squeeze of the middle classes and the rise of federal, state and local government payrolls.

A single income used to be adequate to buy a house and raise a family. Without the drag of a multitude of offices harassing the people and eating out their substance we’d be doing pretty well. So would the Greeks.
