Game on Beason vs McGuire

The Union has the story Nate Beason has decided to run for a third term as District  1 Supervisor.

Nate Beason will seek re-election as Nevada County Supervisors representing more than 13,000 residents in the Nevada City area, making up District 1.

Beason announced his plans late Tuesday — after saying on Friday he would make a decision by early November. Local lawyer Sue McGuire said Friday she would run against Beason.

Beason cited his role in keeping Nevada County solvent despite declining revenue and uncertainty from the state; his experience in navigating state bureaucracy to advocate for rural counties; and his efforts “in minimizing the impact of unnecessary and overreaching regulations, particularly in the areas of waste water treatment, proposed new septic regulations, and freshwater delivery to low-income households.

I worked for Nate’s election on his first run and vote for him the second time around, but I think it is time for a change. I will be supporting Sue McGuire this time. I was very disappointed on how Nate handled the Diaz/AtPac issue, and his “my way or the highway” attitude from the Bridge of District One.  It is time for change.

Russ you do know what this means don’t you?

Seems some need to understand who the residents/voters of District 1 are.

Sue has already formed a wide coalition of supporters from all political spectrums in only a week. The BOS elections are non-partisan. Voters want electeds that will work with others on the needs of the community. While Nate has led by the “my way or the highway” approach, Sue has demonstrated that she will lead through building coalitions. She has been here forever and knows the lay of the land. Further, it will be refreshing to have a female on the BOS again.

No Tea Party leader will be elected in D1, never gonna happen.
