This came in over the e-mail transom, published in the Idaho Historical Society Newsletter:

Lemhi County Historical Society Receives State’s Highest Museum Honor

Awarded annually by the Idaho Humanities Council, Idaho State Historical Society, and Idaho Heritage Trust, the Sister Alfreda recognition includes a $10,000 award to be used by the winning museum to continue its educational efforts.  In the past several years, the Lemhi County Historical Society has completely redesigned its exhibits, engaged the community with numerous annual public events, and provided professional assistance to other museums in the area.  It is the epitome of what an active historical society and museum should be.

Why post here?  When I was writing my book, Cobalt: The Legacy of the Blackbird Mine, the Lemhi Museum staff were very supportive of my project, providing photos and historical text. They also host my first book signing, which was highly successful.

Congratulations to the Lemhi County Historical Society Museum’s Staff and Board of Directors for this outstanding accomplishment.
