In Davos, Climate Change was Dead and Buried, When Will it Die in CA?

Russ Steele

In the past when the elites gathered in Davos, climate change was on the agenda, this year not so much. Maybe that is why Al Gore was in Antarctica looking for some melting. It is summer in the Southern Hemisphere.  According to a Davos morning after report,  the main things missing from Davos this year was — young people, women and serious discussion about climate change.

Tracy Corrigan, from The Wall Street Journal, told the Downloading Davos breakfast that discussions at the forum had concentrated on economic growth, which was “slightly incompatible to focusing on long-term investment in climate change”.

The emphasis at Davos this years was very much on the lack of growth in the developed world, there was no room for climate change on the agenda this year.

In California we are struggling with the need for economic growth, but our political leaders are still putting climate change at the top of their agenda. I wonder when our leaders will take note that the economic elites in Davos have lost interest in long term investment in climate change, as it is incompatible with long term economic growth. Duh!

You took the words right out of my mouth.

Thought there is some solace for the California elite, as it is muck easier to redistribute broke!
