Tea Party Surging

Russ Steele

Our local lefty blogger is making a big deal over Mark Meckler’s resignation from the Tea Party Patriots’s Board of Directors. But, Mark moves on and he is live blogging the Arizona Tea Party Leadership Convention at his Across the Fence blog.

Almost every time I appear in the media these days the interviewer asks me if tea party enthusiasm is waning or gone.  It’s hard not to laugh.  I travel all over the country and everywhere I go I find tea party, 9/12 and other liberty organizations who are growing.  I find new chapters starting.  And I find huge numbers of Americans who are actively engaged.

This weekend I’m in Scottsdale, Arizona, and I just had the privilege of making opening remarks at the Arizona Tea Party Leadership Convention.  The event is sold out, with over 60 local tea party coordinators from all over the state making the trip to Scottsdale.  There’s a waiting list…they simply couldn’t accommodate the demand for participation.   The enthusiasm is phenomenal.
