Local Left Has Decided to Attack Free Speech!

Russ Steele

I am sure that you have all heard about Rush Limbaugh’s bad choice of words when a young lady testified before Congress expressed her opinion that tax payers should be funding her recreational sex contraception at the tune of a $1,000 dollars a year. Rush apologized, for his poor choice of words, but our local lefties want more.  Here is a comments from our local lefty blog:

That is a good idea, we should flood KNCO with complaints and threat of boycotting their advertisers.

First thing monday morning I will be calling KNCO offices.

Oh, so now we can’t take a joke? That’s supposed to be an appology? Limbaugh is the Republican’s God Father so there’s no way in Heaven or Hell he’ll stop pounding the pulpit of hate and bigitory until his fans turn him off and stop doing business with his advertisers. Not gona happen. . . .

When the left uses a poor choice of words, it is not big deal. If a conservative does then they start looking for blood!

Well the first thing on Monday I will be calling KNCO as a free speech supporter and sending an e-mail right now: http://www.knco.com/contactus.html  Where in the Constitution does is say free speech has to be politically correct speech.  Everyone is entitled to an opinion!

  1. Dena says:

And the other side of the story, Fluke is not what she claims to be. Instead of a victim, she is an attacker and is entitled to what ever is dished out.

  2. Steve Loomis says:

Dont ya think that KNCO knows that the “flood” will come from people who don’t listen to his show or most of KNCO anyway? The buzz these guys get from this is scarry.

  3. It appears the woman is a Fluke. She is actually 30 and not 23. From The Balze
“For me the interesting part of the story is the ever-evolving “coed”. I put that in quotes because in the beginning she was described as a Georgetown law student. It was then revealed that prior to attending Georgetown she was an active women’s right advocate. In one of her first interviews she is quoted as talking about how she reviewed Georgetown’s insurance policy prior to committing to attend, and seeing that it didn’t cover contraceptive services, she decided to attend with the express purpose of battling this policy. During this time, she was described as a 23-year-old coed. Magically, at the same time Congress is debating the forced coverage of contraception, she appears and is even brought to Capitol Hill to testify. This morning, in an interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show, it was revealed that she is 30 years old, NOT the 23 that had been reported all along.

  4. John Galt says:

Ms. Fluke (Rhymes with “Luck”–which is either ironic or prophetic–not sure which.) is reportedly on a scholarship at a Catholic Jesuit law school (Georgetown) that costs $60,000 a year, and we’re asked to believe that she can see on the faces of her fellow female students that they are suffering in health and finances because they cannot afford contraception.

She gave this testimony before congress.

That’s outlandish. And it’s probably perjury as well.

As far as young Mr. Emery goes…in someways its’ helpful that he provides us with so much documentation on his positions. We’ll be well equipped should he run for office again.

  5. RL Crabb says:

So I guess that does make her a slut, right?

  6. Free speech means protection of even provocative speech. Same with cartoonists and the hero of the left, Larry Flint of Hustler. The left lionizes him, even made a swaning movie about his right to free speech in a vile industry that takes advantage of and portrays women as sluts and sex objects. I guess there must be a double standard? wink, wink.

I personally don’t use those terms but I see the hypocrisy of the thing.

  7. Russ says:

She may not be a physical slut, but appears to be a political one. She is not a 23 year old student, she is 30 years old and a political activist, who set out to make news in front of Congress. Claiming that she needs a $1,000 a year in contraceptives and cannot afford them raises questions, why make such a claim. Does she not know what the real costs are? She is in law school and does not yet know the consequences of lying in front of Congress, she would have to be the last lawyer on the earth before I would hire her. I hope her uncle or dad has a law firm so she can find a job when she graduates.

  8. Well, she was testifying in front of democrats so perjury is no big deal to them. They actually are using her as a fundraising tool according to a Foxnews article this morning.

“A day earlier, President Obama called Fluke to “thank her” for speaking out. Congressional Democrats, meanwhile, condemned the Limbaugh comments while also incorporating them in House fundraising efforts. ”

The democrats probably setup this up to go after anyone who might respond as Rush did. Pretty good strategy it appears. The leftwing runs the news so we see this double standard from them all the time. They lionize Larry Flint of Hustler and even make a fawning movie about his “free speech”. We know he peddles slime and denigrates women but he is a lefty hero. I don’t personally use the term Rush used but sometimes when a person speaks their mind they always risk these attacks. The left has websites devoted to trashing Rush, they spend lots of money trying to take him off th air because he is a huge thorn under their skin. The local left is now trying to intimidate KNCO into getting rid of him.

That is how the left treats speech they don’t like. Get rid of the messenger. We on the right say let’s let people speak and then we will debate the speech. They are fascists, we are freedom lovers.

Another choice quote from one of our local lefty thinkers:

reinette senum, on March 4, 2012 at 6:26 am said:

I notice that ass isn’t mentioning his tax-supported (through R&D) and insurance-covered Viagra….. Can we say HYPOCRITE? There is nothing free-speech about this. It is slanderous and he should have his Viagra taken away… and probably all the Oxycotin he is gulping down as well. What a pig. I will enjoy his final take-down and roasting.

  10. B White says:

Again I need help understanding context. Can someone explain to me why contraceptives are necessary in relation to sex with the same gender?

  11. John Galt says:

B White, sometimes contraceptives are prescribed to women for medical/biological reasons unrelated to their primary purpose of thwarting the creation of human life. It’s not very common, but this would explain the circumstance.

    • B White says:

I must admit that I was guilty of a little tunnel vision at the time. When you consider all forms of what is referred to as contraception then there are reasons for use other than to inhibit procreation. My perception was that Ms. Fluke was probably not having that match intimacy with the opposite sex.

  12. John Galt says:

Paul Emery, provided this link to the CSPAN video of Fluke’s testimony. http://current.com/16hv4kc

I listed to Fluke’s testimony and extracted the following quotes and notes from it:

Fluke is a 3rd year law student at [Catholic/Jesuit] Georgetown lawschool. She’s also a past president of Georgetown Law Students for Reproductive Justice.

She said that Georgetown students faced “financial, emotional, and medical burdens as a result [of the failure of Georgetown’s student medical plan to not provide contraceptive coverage.]”

She described contraceptive coverage as necessary to meet the “critical healthcare needs of so many women. ”

“When I LOOK AROUND my campus, I SEE THE FACES of the women AFFECTED by this LACK of CONTRACEPTIVE COVERAGE and especially in the last week I have heard more and more of their STORIES on a daily basis …..and the tell me they have suffered FINANCIALLY, EMOTIONALLY, and MEDICALLY because of the lack of [contraceptive] coverage.”

“Without insurance coverage, contraception, as you know, can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school. ”

“For a lot of students, who LIKE ME, are on PUBLIC INTEREST SCHOLARSHIPS, that’s practically an entire summer’s salary.”

“40% of the female students at GEORGETOWN LAW reported to us that they STRUGLED FINANCIALLY as a RESULT of this policy [of not providing contraceptive insurance coverage.]”

“Women’s health clinics are not able to meet the CRUSHING DEMAND [by women] for contraception care services.”

“Women’s health takes a back seat to a bureacracy focused on policing her body.”

“In 65% of the cases at our school [Georgetown] our female students were INTERROGATED by insurance reprentatives and univerity medical staff about why they need prescriptions [for contraception].”

Does anyone believe Ms. Sanrad Fluke spoke the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth in her testimony?

    –John Galt

  13. Dixon Cruickshank says:

As far as Emery and his positions and run for office – no one in this country in the 21st century should be allowed to hold office if they don’t own a TV – just say’in

As far as Fluke and Rush – what he said doesn’t matter, she is fake and they all feel the same way about anything he says – so what difference does it make in the end

  14. John Galt says:

I often wonder what difference it does make. I try to write my thoughts in a way that will resonate with a broad audience–with the hopes of making a difference.

And even when I dont’ agree with RL Crabb, Paul Emery, and Michael Anderson, the debate/conversation is usually thought provoking.

But I’m just about at the point where I skip over reading the extreme left. One in particular (on a different site) claims to be an expert on rights and “Women’s Rights” because he has a lot of females in his extended family. Hard to have an intelligent conversation with that thinking.

    –John Galt

    • Dena says:

I understand where you are coming from. I can only take the left for so long and then I have to do something else till I get it out of my system. I can only take between 5 and 10 minutes of Obama before my normally low blood pressure starts getting to high and I have to hit the remote.

  15. Carbonite stock is tanking after they decided their best salesman was not worth sticking up for. Good.

    • John Galt says:

A classic example of making a decision based on EMOTION.

Carbonite generates revenues from monthly service fees. The fees are small, and their are other strong competitors ( See http://www.top-10-online-backups.com ).

Carbonite spent millions to create brand loyalty.

…which they’ve now damaged with their public statement.

      Say Good Night to Carbonite.
