Left Crowing About the Miserable Numbers

Russ Steele

The number of people signing the petition to removed Russ Limbaugh from KNCO has reached a little over 600, crows our local left blogger.  How significant is that number? Not much if we look at the Western Nevada County population over 18 years of age, which is  about 66.5K. The list has about point nine (.9) percent of the over 18 population.

Looking deeper we discover that many of the names on the list are not even in our community, many of the signatures are well beyond the KNCO coverage, unless they were listening on the Internet.

  • Killeen, TX
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Rohnert Park, CA
  • Davis, CA
  • Orland, CA
  • Chico, CA
  • Renaissance, CA
  • Oroville, CA
  • Sweetland, CA
  • Sausalito, CA
  • Chiloquin, OR
  • Magalia, CA
  • Eureka, CA
  • Mill Valley, CA
  • Boulder Creek, CA
  • Monterey, CA
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Fort Madison, IA
  • Yankee Jims, CA
  • Foresthill, CA
  • Truckee, AK
  • Cordova, TN
  • New Orleans, LA

Several people signing the petition just listed the United States for their community. Others were not brave enough to give there full name.  If I were KNCO I would not give this list of people who are not smart enough to find the off switch on there radio or the ability to change the channel much credibility.

Good POST Russ which underscores that the progressive liberal mind is powered by pure emotion unable to deal with logic let alone the facts. I agree with you that if these (snip) don’t like Rush then don’t listen to him. Switch to KVMR or some other tribal station. Good Grief…..

  2. Kim Jong Ill would be poud of the anti free speech signers of the petition.

Rush Clearing Up Misinformation on Sponsors HERE.

RUSH: I want to ask if you will indulge me for just a brief few minutes for some inside baseball stuff before we move on to our review of the issues of the day, politics and so forth, Super Tuesday, the results, and where we are.  The reason for this is, once again, so much misinformation about this program and advertisers is in the mainstream media.  People are reporting things that, A, are not true, and B, I don’t even think the people reporting it have the slightest idea what they’re talking about, nor do they have the ability to understand it.

Thanks to Todd for the link.

  4. D. King says:

Wow, I can’t believe KNCO is participating in this mess.
I thought they were smarter than that…oh hum.

  5. David Maggs says:

If you consider that there are @16K of people above 41 years of age in Nevada County, and if (the way this poll is looking) going to be over 1000 people who sign this, and if you consider that (according to Radio Marketing Bureau) there are @3000 people in this age group who listen to the radio between the hours of 8 to 11am, that’s a 33% of the people who are voting to have Rush removed. If you add in the 31-40 age group then it’s 3800 (seems demographically that Rush attracts an “older audience”) then it’s 27%.

KNCO has to take this into consideration, otherwise they wil not be able to sell their advertising (which I imagine has been very lucrative) and no advertsing sold, no income.

  6. No, you have it all wrong. There are no more people in those age brackets left. The liberals banned them and sent them to Sacramento. You lefties sure get creative with your BS.

  7. Russ says:

Oh my Carbonite and Sleep Train are suddenly having some second thoughts. They found out how powerful the market can be and the power of Rush’s voice. If KNCO were to drop Rush they would feel the revenue loss. Small market radio stations like KNCO are struggling and loss of any solid revenue stream could being and end to the station. They should not allow them selves to be stampeded by a much of hack on social media, especially when more and more of the names on the list do not live in Nevada County.

  8. David Maggs says:

Yea Russ, if you actually count them, there’s 2-3% that don’t live in the county, and if you look at people that live outside the broadcasting area, it’s less than 1%.

You want to base your argument on these margins when Sleeptrain has publicly said they will not go back to advertising (earlier today) with Rush?

    Is that your argument?

  9. I read that Sleeptrain did want to go back. There are many companieslined up to fill the void. Regarding margins. Fidel Castro took over Cuba with a few men and a couple of donkeys. It doesn’t take many liberals to usurp freedom.
