The Academic Left Buying Seats at the Political Table

Ponder this from Newsalert:

Open Secrets has the top 20 institutions contributing to the Obama 2012 campaign. 5 of the top 20 institutions are universities. So much for non-partisan , scientific, altruistic research from those who claim to be “above” self-interest. University of California, Harvard, Stanford, University of Chicago, and Columbia make the list. Sounds like more money spent on higher education winds up in the Obama campaign.

Barack Obama calls these “investments”. Most people know your typical professor is a registered Democrat , but who knew they had so much disposable income that they are trying to buy politicians? Who would have ever guessed that people in the “non-profit” world would become top political donors? Attention Republican party members in Congress: you are so dumb for allowing these institutions to not be taxed like any other corporation. This is a higher education bubble update.

Should these non-profits have their status lifted?
