Heads Up Purple Man — Centrist are Losers!

From the LA Times: Few centrists advance in California’s new primary system

California’s partisan divide will probably remain after Tuesday’s primary, when few centrists saw electoral success amid extremely low turnout.

It is hard to stand in the middle of the road and not get run over by reality.  People vote for those who hold similar core values. Middle of the road centrist try to have it both ways and no one real believes they have any core values.

“Historically low turnout of 15 percent – the lowest ever in the state for a presidential primary”

I don’t think you can say too much about an election that “nobody” shows up for – except for those with strong convictions.

  3. The turn out percentage that I saw was 25% for the state according to the Sec of State. A historic low turnout. Apathy!

  4. That is what happens when there are more “takers” in the legislature and the public. That includes all the “non-profits” that get grants for doing nothing but suggesting more ways to “take”. Hell, California is now “protecting our marine life as reported in the Union today that we won’t even be able to fish! What a mess the left has made.

The election may not have created some new centerist coalition in California, and, unlike Mr. Emery, I am a proponent of the top two system and think the impact will take a few cycles to be fully realized.

But face it BOYS, on the local level, the Tea People got their a**es kicked. YOU got your a**es kicked.

At the end of the day Nevada County is, as it has been for more than 30 years, and as I have always contended, slightly center-right in the great spectrum of California politics. And most of the rest of the Sierra Nevada (with the exception of Mono and Alpine counties) is further to the right.

All I can say is lets keep those Bay area refugees moving in up here, and in a few years you will be so disgusted with Nevada County that you will move to Texas or Wyoming…..
