Cheap Solar Panels Have Nasty Tax Bite

A regular reader of his blog sent this from the WSJ:

U.S. businesses that bought solar panels made in China earlier this year are retroactively being hit with unexpected tax bills, as they find themselves caught in the middle of a trade fight between U.S. and Chinese manufacturers.

The unusual bills are the result of action by the U.S. Commerce Department, which slapped provisional antidumping duties of between 31% and nearly 250% on solar panels containing Chinese-made solar cells in May.

    It’s really embarrassing for the progressives when their green policies run against the realities of world economics and are proven butt stupid. But not to worry, they have no shame because they have no understanding of the matter, and respond by doubling down on stupid.

    I would like to recommend my definition of stupid: willful ignorance. As in some of our posters persist in trying to tell us that their green ideas are excellent when Russ has posted numerous examples that demonstrate that they are bogus and harmful.
