Be sure and read the facts presented in the post when watching this program. If you know the facts, then you will know when to hit the BS Button, and call a foul on PBS. Please note that even the President has stopped talking about climate change. Not one word during the debates. It is all over, and PBS is just a little late to the game.

Watts Up With That?

Press release

On Tuesday, October 23, PBS’s “Frontline” program will broadcast a special titled “Climate of Doubt.” It promises to go “inside the organizations” that helped turn the tide of public opinion, and then of elected officials, away from excessive concern over the possible threat of man-made global warming.

The Heartland Institute is likely to be a central figure in this program as we welcomed “Frontline” producer Catherine Upin and her crew to our Seventh International Conference on Climate Change in Chicago in May. Heartland Institute Senior Fellow James M. Taylor also gave a three-hour interview to the film crew in August. Earlier this year, The Economist called Heartland “the world’s most prominent think tank promoting skepticism about man-made climate change.”

We hope the program is accurate and fair, but past experience both with PBS and other mainstream media outlets leads us to predict it will be neither…

If the Seattle PBS station is typical of the network, their brains ran out of living cells about 7 years ago.

Even better is the news that Dr Mann has filed a lawsuit against NRO and CEI. Discovery will be so much fun to watch. We will finally be able to see how the good doctor uses software and other mathie tricks to make the pesky Medieval Warm Period go away while manufacturing hockey schticks.

  3. PBS said it was an election special, and they trotted out that “97% of scientists” canard at every opportunity. The put the 97% questions to Dr. Singer but, he didn’t get a chance to say why he disagreed with the 97% mime. They didn’t explain how the 97% of climate scientists was determined (77 out of 79), and dissed the 32,000 who did not believe on global warming.

PBS didn’t interview 100s of esteemed scientists who could have gone into very technical scientific reasons why they are skeptics. They didn’t explain what the current rate of sea level rise was, nor note is was declining. Nor did they point our the the SC sea shore was sinking and the sea level not rising as rapidly as projected. They didn’t discuss the high level of Antarctic sea ice, and the rapid recovery the 2012 Arctic ice. They used a 10 year plateau and not the 16 year plateau in temperature. It was truly a political hack jobs for the November election.

People are as honest and truthful as they think they can afford to be. The intellectually bankrupt are morally tapped out.
